Our History
During the 1800’s, Kansas City and Westport were split into 2 separate communities at Main Street. In 1886, the 3rd Presbyterian Church was built under the leadership of Pastor Louis A. Craig who longed for a unified place of worship between the communities. Once each community’s cemeteries became full, the leader of each community decided to have one mutual cemetery and create union between the two. This common ground became Union Hill.
In the late 1950’s the church became home to the Veterans of Foreign Wars making it a place for returning soldiers to come for fellowship. In the 1980’s the Vietnam Veterans Support Foundation decided to take on the legacy of fellowship. In 2010, Lord Hathaway volunteered to carry out this legacy which became the Union Hill Event Hall.
Fellowship and amazing customer service are just a couple of traits we pride ourselves on.
